The Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War was opened on May 9, 1995 in Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow. The museum consists of 4 expositions: the military-historical halls, the dioramas, the art gallery and the exhibition of military equipment at open space outside the building.
You will get a multifaceted insight into the history of the Great Patriotic War, getting acquainted with the 6 main battles of the Great Patriotic War: the counteroffensive near Moscow, the Battle of Stalingrad, the blockade of Leningrad, the Battle of Kursk, the crossing of the Dnieper and the storming of Berlin. These epic plots are depicted in dioramas made by the best masters of battle painting. The sounds of battles that complement each diorama will immerse you in the atmosphere of the battle. The excursion includes a visit to the Hall of Generals, Hall of Fame, Hall of Memory and Mourning
Also, a special feature of the exposition are interactive audiovisual complexes - 6 video walls show genuine newsreels of the war years, rare photos, cartographic and archival materials. The museum is equipped with an automated search system for information about those who died during the Great Patriotic War.
