The unique Panoramic Museum "Battle of Borodino" was opened in 1962б at the 150th anniversary of this great event. All of departments and exhibits of the museum are combined into a gigantic large-format exposition of a single event - the historical battle of 1812. An excursion to the "Borodino panorama" will become your fascinating journey to the field of the great battle.
The complex of the Museum-Panorama "Battle of Borodino" in Moscow includes: the main building - with a large-scale 15-meter painting of the Battle of Borodino; the famous "Kutuzovskaya izba" - the place of the military council before the battle; 1000 paintings of battles and portraits of its participants; almost 50 thousand exhibits from the time of the Borodino battle (weapons, equipment, ammunition, graphics, sculpture, numismatics and old books); an exhibition about the life and work of the painter F.A.Roubaud; as well as the Museum of Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia, recently included in the memorial complex.
There are only 60 similar panoramas in the world, 4 of them are in Russia, and "Borodino" is the largest of them in size, its length is 115 meters, and its height is 15 (about a 5-storey building). Borodino Panorama in Moscow is an excursion that will become the best type of intellectual recreation for tourists of any age.
