Program

Day 1:

At the beginning of this tour you will be transferred from Moscow to the old city of Vladimir. Once been the center of old Russia, it had preserved several very old cathedrals. The Uspensky Cathedral was painted inside by the best masters of its time, and one of the masters was the great Andrey Rublev. After lunch in one of the restaurants of Vladimir, you will be transferred to the nearby town of Souzdal.

Day 2:

You will start your next day from a guided tour of ancient Souzdal. This small town counts nearly 1000 years of history and has 57 cathedrals and churches on its really small territory. The old Kremlin of Souzdal is breathing with history and the museum of wooden architecture will amaze you with the mastership of local craftsmen. After excursion and lunch, you will proceed to the next point of your route – the Kostroma.

Day 3:

Kostroma was set on the shore of great Russian river Volga in XII century by the same person who founded Moscow – the Duke Yuriy Dolgorukiy. The town was lucky to keep the historical center in a good condition. The main attraction here is undoubtedly the Ipatiev Monastery – a place that is closely and mystically connected with the dynasty of Romanov’s. After the excursion in Kostroma you will be transferred to Yaroslavl, where you will have lunch and visit the main local attractions – the Church of Elijah the Prophet with unique paintings of XVII century and the Spaso-Preobrazhensky monastery.

Day 4:

On the morning of the final day of your trip you will depart from Yaroslavl to Rostov. The Kremlin of Rostov is a huge and harmonious complex of buildings in old Russian style. It is interesting and important, that this complex had become the museum in XIX century, long before the Revolution in Russia. You’ll have lunch in Rostov and point your way back to Moscow.
